Description
Agribase Thermal Insulation is a batt made from agricultural fibre recovered from pineapple leaves and banana pseudo-stems, bonded with a bio-based binder. It contains 90 % natural fibre and is available at 32 kg/m³ in 25 mm and 50 mm thicknesses.
From Farm Waste to Building Material
Large volumes of pineapple leaves and banana stems are left over after harvest in Vietnam, and most are burned in the field or left to rot. The fibre in that material is long, strong and already dry — a resource, not waste. Agribase turns it into insulation for projects that specify a plant-based material instead of a petrochemical one, with fibre traceable to the farm.

R-values are calculated from the measured thermal conductivity at nominal thickness. Tolerances: width −3/+5 mm · length −5/+10 mm · thickness ±2 mm.
Where to Use Agribase
Agribase absorbs more water vapour than PET-based insulation (below 12 % by weight), so it should be installed only in dry interior positions — not in exposed, external or damp locations. For those positions, choose Polycycle Thermal Insulation.

Can Agribase be used in external walls or roofs?
No. Agribase is designed for dry interior positions only. For external walls, roofs and damp areas, use Polycycle Thermal Insulation.
What is the bio-based binder?
Natural fibre does not melt, so Agribase uses a bio-based binder (10 % by weight) instead of heat bonding. Contact us for the material safety data sheet.
Is Agribase biodegradable?
Agribase has a biodegradable natural-fibre base. Contact us for end-of-life guidance for your project.
